This interactive Diocesan Website went live in January 2010. The original motivation for it arose out of a desire to provide something exciting for all parts of the Diocese to use. The site is simple, easy to navigate and quick to operate. It has been built on a stable platform (DotNetNuke) so it should continue to run relatively problem free as it has for the past year.
The aim of the website is to help us strengthen our relationship with Christ and to enable us to go out as apostles.
In order to give effect to our aim, the website provides:
- information on events taking place in the Diocese from time to time. This includes the Ad Clerums, Bishop’s newsletters and details of current news and upcoming events;
- details of appropriate training available from time to time;
- information and tools to assist in the administration of the Diocese and parishes. These include resources and information for all members of the Diocese. There is a Diocesan bookstore, manuals, information about the Medical Aid, Pension Fund, Property, manuals and advice to help parish and organisation leaders to do their jobs properly. The Rules and Guidelines are all available in printer friendly versions.;
- parishes with a tool to further their own programs. Every parish is able to develop and maintain their own website at no upfront cost. Regular training sessions are held to train members of parishes in how to develop and maintain their own website.
